That's a screenshot of my StatCounter graph of hits for this blog. On average, I get about 50-60 hits on any given day, and occasionally as many as 100; of those, there are about 10-12 regular visitors and the rest are almost entirely Google image searches. Definitely VERY small potatoes in the online world. Microscopic, even.
But on Saturday, someone actually clicked one of those "submit" buttons on this post, and I got about 1,400 hits. On a Saturday, no less, when web traffic is generally lighter.
I am reminded of the chapter in "Hitch-hiker's Guide To The Galaxy" with the box that shows you your actual significance in the universe. Except for Zaphod Beeblebrox, every person who goes into the box comes out with their ego totally shattered with the realization of their crushing insignificance. I feel very insignificant today indeed.
