Science Daily did a quick re-write of a press release from researchers at Cardiff University in Wales who claim that they can state with some confidence that life on Earth did not originate on this planet — it came from various building blocks inside comets. In fact, they’re willing to say that the odds are 1024-to-1 AGAINST life originating on the planet.
Meanwhile, NY Times op-ed writer John Tierney says he’s willing to buy Oxford philosophy professor Nick Bossom’s theory that there’s a 20% chance we’re actually all just part of a giant computer simulation a la “The Matrix”.
