“Saturday Night Live” writer and Air America radio host Al Franken is running for the United States Senate in his home state of Minnesota. Unsurprisingly, he’s runinng as a Democrat (or, to be more technical, as a Democratic-Farmer-Labor candidate, since that’s the name of the party there), and his opponent is the Republican incumbent, Norm Coleman.
The political blog The Seminal tells us that Franken’s got a couple of television spots on the air now, and one of them does a pretty good job of skewering the stereotypical political commercial by aiming for the YouTube generation.
But, wait, there’s more! The Seminal also tells us that Senator Coleman’s wife, Laurie, who apparently used to be a model, also has her own television commercials. They’re not for Coleman’s campaign, they’re for a new hair dryer called…wait for it…Blo & Go.

I see a lucrative future for her selling these at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport, especially if she can get Larry Craig as a spokesperson. After all, the Republicans are headed for Minneapolis for their convention this summer, and a lot of them need all the hair help they can get…except Mitt Romney, of course.

Thanks for the link.
You are absolutely right, they really do write themselves sometimes.
The piece about the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport is brilliant though. Wish I had thought of that.
