What with the growing popularity for personal tasers, it was only a matter of time before somebody got around to introducing anti-taser products. This video demonstrates a fabric called “ThorShield” from a company called Point Blank Solutions, which specialized in body armor and related products. (via)
Thor-Shield is a conductive fabric that can be layered directly into garments. It’s lightweight and breathable, so it can be added to a uniform (or any article of clothing) without the discomfort of typical body armor or protective gear. Not only is this likely to become standard issue among police departments, I can easily imagine an entire line of fashionwear to match your blinged-out MP3-playing, leopard-print taser.
In fact, if you’re going to carry a taser, you might want to be sure you’re wearing this material when you go out, in the case that some eeeevil-doer snatches your stun-gun away from you and tries to tase you, bro.
