FAUX News reports that a 6-year-old girl in Texas is slated to undergo a hemispherectomy in an attempt to treat a rare case of Rasmussen’s encephalitis. In a hemispherectomy, one half of the cerebral cortex of the brain is either removed frm the cranium or surgically disconnected from the remainder of the brain with the hope of stopping symptoms such as epileptic seizure.
On the plus side, even with 50% of her brain removed, the little girl will still have 50% more brains than the average Texan.
