We Now Return You To Your Regular Program Already In Progress

Sorry, I spent quite a bit of time this afternoon frigging around trying to upgrade WordPress. Their “automatic update” system leaves something to be desired. I’m not the only one having trouble. Solonor complained about it on Twitter, too.

Delicious posty goodness is promised for tomorrow.

Looks like the WP 2.7.1 install is breaking all sorts of things. This site is fine, but I must have seen at least three or four other sites complaining about it.

If you are having issues, one important thing to check is to see which version of PHP your ISP supports. WP 2.7.1 wants to use PHP 5, and some ISPs are still using PHP 4.

Also…make sure you save your current wp-config file, because if you follow WordPress’s instructions it will be deleted and replaced with a new config file that does not have your database info in it.
