“Ah, I see you’ve got the machine that goes PING!”
I came across this Flash presentation this morning: Auditory Warnings by sound artist John Wynne. It’s an interesting little discursion on the ubiquity of machines that go PING in our modern world and how we learn to live in an environment overloaded with various auditory notifications, many of which are not entirely appropriate to their context.
