Here’s a neat video that shows the changes to the iconic Batman logo from its introduction in the 1930s through several different comic book series, movie serials, the 1960s television series, and the various cinematic films right up through the most recent incarnation with Christian Bale as the bat.
(I found the music very annoying, so I recommend turning off the sound, but YMMV)

They left out the logo from Batman: The Brave and the Bold (which is currently David’s favorite show.) It was really cool to watch, though, even without that. Thanks for posting it. And I rather liked the music too.
Interesting how the logo has changed. I found the 1989 “Legends of the Dark Knight” similar to the profile of the B-2 Stealth bomber that debuted the same year. I seem to recall the 1941 logo also being used in the 1960s series.
(The U2 tune was nice, but the sliding cowl sound effect was pretty annoying.)
