Well, there was no road trip this week. An unexpected situation came up on Wednesday that basically wasted my entire morning. On the plus side, it did afford me the opportunity to catch up on some overdue laundry, so it wasn’t a total scratch.
I’ve decided that next week’s destination will be Haverhill, MA. Now that I’ve done a couple of trips to the far ends of the circle, a place a little closer to home is due. I’m also trying to decide where to visit “Out West” a couple of weeks down the road.

Oh! My mother’s parents both grew up in Haverhill. Please visit my grandmother and the rest of my maternal family relatives at the Children of Israel cemetery, won’t you?
Nah, not really (I mean, yes, they’re there, but you don’t need to go), but it *is* right across the street from John Greenleaf Whittier’s birthplace, surely the most exciting spot in town.
How about Williamstown? That’s as far west (and north) as you can get and still be in Massachusetts.
Forgot. That’s probably outside the circle.
Ooooo great antique mall in an old mill downtown. let me know if you see any Maxfield parrish. I found quite a few there on our last pass through. If I’m not incorrect, I also recall a local place that made traditional pork pies from scratch. Husband approved.
That’s too far outside my 50-mile circle. The western edge of my circle goes about as far as Leominster. There are some specific sites I want to see in Worcester.
