For every guy like Ronny Cox, Chris Cooper or James Cromwell who went on to higher profile parts and even the occasional Oscar, there are the omnipresent likes of Richard Herd, John Randolph, or Ed Lauter whom you’ve seen on TV all your life and never knew their names. And let us not forget the immortal Vito Scotti, who played every Italian or Mexican guy on every sitcom ever, and even appeared as a lost WWII Japanese sailor on the aforementioned Gilligan’s Island.
